Aeonium cv. "Atropurpureum"

Aeonium cv. "Atropurpureum"
100cm, a cultivar descending from Aeonium manriqueorum (Gran Canaria) and not Aeonium arboreum (syn. Aeonium korneliuslemsii from Morocco) as most commercial nurseries state. In full sun-light leaves will turn deeply purplish, almost black red. Its lax inflorescence of bright yellow flowers appears in July/August. This cultivar should be given a very sunny position in a rather dry medium in order to keep plants healthy and vital. Plants are from an old lady from Gran Canaria who has been growing this plant in her patio for more than 45 years.
