Paeonia kavachensis Aznav.
70 (90)cm, a rare species, which is now regarded a form of the Paeonia daurica ssp. daurica complex. It is native of eastern Turkey (south of Lake Van) and has broadly ovoid leaflets, in some specimens with undulated margins, slightly glaucous with a reddish tinge in full sun. Large lilac to pale rose flowers. For the rockery garden in any humus rich, well drained soil in full sun. IV-V.
