Scilla maderense (Madeira Blue Bell) Exclusive
40 (60)cm, Madeira Blue Bell is an utmost rare and threatened, very tall and large Scilla native of Madeira (Portugal). Makes various, up to 10cm broad, deep green leaves with a nice reddish edge emerge from a massive bulb, which gains up to 10cm ø. The pale lilac racemes reach up to 60cm in height and show small pink to lilac flowers in a lax inflorescence followed by fleshy dark green fruits. Not winter hardy, requires a minimum of some 5°C in winter in a sunny spot and careful watering. Summer dormant. XI-III.
