10 (12)7cm, Bird's Foot Violet, native of open woods and dry rocky banks in NE USA (from the state of New York, to Wisconsin, and south to Florida). Has deeply divided, glossy, dark green leaves and up to 4cm large (!), pale bluish-purple flowers. For sandy or rocky clay soils with few humus compounds, full sun. IV-VI.
